Silvador Climate Action Partners with Anew Climate to Bring Verified Romanian Forest Carbon to Global Buyers

Silvador Climate Action — our Improved Forest Management project in the Subcarpathian foothills of Romania, twice verified under the Verra VCS Program — is now marketed by Anew Climate. From today, one of the most experienced carbon credit developers in the world takes verified Romanian forest carbon to buyers on every continent. The trees stay in Romania. The impact goes global.
Anew Climate has spent more than 20 years building environmental markets, delivering over 200 million tonnes of emission reductions and removals across more than 300 projects for over 1,000 clients. For a project developer of our size, that reach is the difference between being a good project and being a project the market can actually find, diligence and trust. Anew’s team has reviewed the full verification record of Silvador Climate Action — validation, two verification cycles, certification audits and the open Data Room — and chosen to represent it. We take that as the strongest independent signal so far that the work done in these forests holds up.
The partnership does not change what happens on the ground. It changes who can see it. Silvador continues to manage the forest, run the monitoring programme and publish the data; Anew Climate brings the commercial reach, the buyer relationships and the diligence standards that corporate buyers expect. What buyers receive is a verified credit from a project they can inspect down to the sample plot.
Verified twice, by two independent bodies : Silvador Climate Action (Verra VCS Project 4511) has completed two verification periods — the first by EPIC Sustainability Services, the second by AENOR — with 80,815 Verified Carbon Units issued or verified to date, net of the pooled buffer contribution. Every figure is traceable to the public registry.
Triple certified : The project is certified under the Verra VCS Program for its carbon accounting, under SD VISta for its contribution to Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and 15, and under FSC for responsible forest management across 100% of the project area. Credits are issued under the VCS Program, which the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market has recognised as a CCP-Eligible program.
2,320 hectares, committed for 40 years : Oak, beech and hornbeam forest in Buzău and Dâmbovița counties, moved from commercial harvesting to protection under a crediting period that runs to 2060. Harvest volumes on project land have fallen by more than 97% since the commitment, while a firewood allocation for local communities is maintained.
Measured, not modelled : 136 permanent sample plots, terrestrial LiDAR scanning, CBM-CFS3 carbon modelling and, since March 2026, the Live Carbon sensor network streaming CO₂ flux from the canopy every hour. The sensor infrastructure, the open algorithm and the MRV methods will keep expanding, and the data will keep being published.
Open by default : The Silvador Data Room gives buyers, rating agencies and researchers the project documents, monitoring reports and verification statements without an NDA. The same philosophy applies to this partnership: verify, don’t trust.
